====== Putting together a pipette flushing macro ======

Flushing the pipette tips is a good way to assess that they air bubbles are out of the lines everything is working well. Here are steps on how to build a flushing macro using the "[[software_overview|Build Macro]]" page (introduced here), which will be saved as a custom macro. Generally, the steps involved are as followed: 
 
  - Move 4-way valves to bypass
  - Move pipettes to waste station
  - Move 4-way valves to input
  - Load multichannel syringes with 500 microliters
  - Turn on waste pump
  - Move 4-way valves to output
  - Dispense 500 microliters
  - Dry pipette tips
  - Turn off waste pump
